Have you ever had a moment when something happens and you draw one conclusion; then someone jumps to (similar) conclusions about you? How did you react when you realized the tables had been turned?
Could that be the backstory for today’s Holy Nougat™?
“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37 NLT
I don’t think that Jesus was speaking from personal experience, as he was trying to protect us from ourselves. So it wasn’t the back story to the Nougat. On the other hand, regardless of how it feels to be the recipient of (unfair or unwarranted) judgement; it is usually very easy to jump to conclusions about others. Especially strangers. Many a time our judgement is based on prior experience -with someone else or in another context- yet we use that to shape our judgement about others. But we are offended when others treat us in a similar manner. Why?
As hard as it is to do so, let us endeavor to walk the path of God’s love. If only for today, then tomorrow’s today, until it’s part of our life-history. It may prove redemptive for us even more than for the other.
Praying God’s grace in our Transformation. Thanks for joining us in this Divine feast.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
