Are you being silenced by the cacophony of naysayers (or your own fears/doubts) in this season? Have you been tempted to call it quits just like everyone has been insisting round about you?

What if …
Something to ponder as we press forward through the naysaying nauseating crowd. Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
“Be quiet!” many of the people yelled at him. But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said, “Tell him to come here.” So they called the blind man. “Cheer up,” they said. “Come on, he’s calling you!”
Mark 10:48-49 NLT
Let’s look at the two crowd responses for a moment …
Shut up – be silent; you’re disturbing the peace
Cheer up – break the silence; shout for joy
Two very opposite phrases.
It’s the SAME crowd, the SAME incident, the comments directed at the SAME man within moments of each other; yet so different in tenor, timbre, and texture.
What was the difference then?
Jesus
Oh yes
When Jesus entered Bartimeaus’ situation; the naysayers became encouragers. There was a total shift in the spiritual atmosphere which translated to a shift in the tenor, timbre and texture of the onlookers.
When Jesus enters our situation, whatever the bystanders THOUGHT they knew MUST undergo a total and revolutionary shift. And that’s why we pray “Your will be done on Earth as it is in the heavenlies”; oh yes.
So when we’re confronted by the nauseating no’s; let’s press forward nevertheless, anticipating the Yes which comes with Jesus’s intervention. Who knows, we might be right on the edge of our breakthrough.
