Greetings one and all

How have you been?

What do we do when that which we hoped for becomes a reality and we find now that just can’t believe God was so generous to us?

Something to chew on alongside today’s Holy Nougat™

When they saw him, they worshiped him—but some of them doubted! Matthew 28:17 NLT

A Theology of Death, often requires a Theology of Life after Death. How so? Although space is the last frontier, death is so naturally finite that it becomes it’s own frontier, which to date has only been truly conquered by Jesus; who had promised us that we will also conquer Death, Life’s final frontier.

Let’s revisit that reality for a bit, yes.

Jesus had personally prepared the disciples for the fact of His death and resurrection. Yet, His death caught everyone by surprise. And in the shock of absorbing the reality of Jesus’ death, they all forgot His promise … He would be back!

Considering that the Saducees were not firm believers in the resurrection, it is NOT surprising that some doubted that it was Jesus standing in their presence. Moreover, it stands to reason that if persons who were walking and talking and interacting with Christ’s fleshy human presence had doubts that He who was before them was the Christ; then we’re not to be too surprised when there are those among us who doubt God’s promises. Or that we ourselves entertain moments when we’re surprised that God honors God’s promises.

In the fact of Jesus’ Resurrection, comes the Proof of another promise – He will be back again. The thing is, we have to take that on God’s Word (remember God honors God’s Word above God’s very name) and believe that that which God has promised remains true.

So, is there something that you’ve placed before The Throne of Grace? Perhaps one of those impossible prayer requests that your spirit says God can’t fulfill? Has your faith waxed dim, (like mine has on occasion) causing a residue of doubt to return to your soul? Could God be inviting each of us to prepare for the fulfillment of God’s Promises in our lives and we fail to believe because our Theology of Death doesn’t include the Blueprint for Eternal Life?

Let’s revisit what we believe, and worship The One who is The Giver of Life! In that way, we won’t be surprised when God fulfills any of God’s promises.

Thanks for joining us in this Divine feast

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
