Hello,
Sometimes I just am in awe of the magnificence of God, and who God is. It is my prayer that each of us can taste and see God in Today’s Holy Nougat™
And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues his people, but not with sword and spear. This is the Lord ’s battle, and he will give you to us!” 1 Samuel 17:47 NLT
Perhaps the greatest challenge we face in appreciating this text is that God’s power is not defined by conventional weaponry, despite the hopes and wishes of many that this was indeed the case. Ironically, that which defines God’s potency could also be misinterpreted as weakness; for who is it that creates and affords the creation the freedom to do and be without overt acts of micromanagement; yet so orders said creation that the inter-relatedness and interdependence of one to the other affords synchronicity that could only be defined as orchestrated? To afford us the space for independent thought and action, yet be so open to individualized personal interaction that our steps might be ordered through the Spirit’s power? Who journeys with us in our seasons of weakness, affording us to display our strengths as gifts to the world? Who abhors sin, yet redeems, forgives and restores the “vilest” sinner en route purgatory and ‘damnation’? Who topples the powerful, yet strengthens, defends and advocates for the downtrodden, disenfranchised and disillusioned? Who nurtures and comforts, while judging and disciplining? Who being beyond sin, becomes sin, so that we once again have a second chance at life … None but God.
What a powerful God!
In Christ’s love and grace
