When last did you have a heart to heart with God, and what were the revelations you’ve received?
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat ™
I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty’ —but I did not reveal my name, Yahweh, to them. Exodus 6:3 NLT
So there is Moses in the throes of his pharaoh crisis, trying to get things and people sorted (and perhaps preparing to tell God, “I told You so I’m really not the hero you’ve made me to be”) when God throws him a distinctly confidence-altering curve ball.
I AM that I AM, God assures him. Though YOU may call me YHWH
And then God offers the life changing profundity, I AM choosing to introduce myself to you in THIS way, unlike my self revelation in the past to your forefathers. For in my name lies the secret to your victory. I AM that I AM. With you in the here and now.
Today, even as we spend time with YHWH – Jehovah, our I AM, perhaps we could resolve to invite God to share one of God’s names which speaks to us in our now circumstances. And, in the ensuing conversation, let’s be open to the move of God’s Spirit breathing life into our dead situations.
Who do we say that God is?
