Although it may not be our own experience, the older ones amongst us might recall the song, “I’m nobody’s Child!” Feeling out of sorts is not uncommon and carries it’s own share of mental, emotional and spiritual challenges. Today’s Holy Nougat™ offers wonderful hope.
And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. Romans 8:2 NLT
Because you belong to God … in one sense, the Nougat could have stopped right there. Many of us would give anything within reason just to know that we belong. We walk around with all sorts of baggage, and have bought into the lie that we’re unlovable, that we’re unrented, that we’re misfits. But God CHOSE to claim us: giving us many assurances that we belong to God. Even to the extent of becoming human, dying in exchange for our sins, assuring us that if we choose God, this could be an eternal belonging.
So, whether we have sinned and are in need of God’s forgiveness – we belong to God
or we have been hurt or abandoned in our youth and feel all alone – we belong to God
or we have been rejected or abused – we belong to God
or it’s just a fleeting thought insinuated in our brain – we belong to God
or we are in a great place and all is well – we belong to God.
Awesome, isn’t it.
