Good morning
Thanks to those who inquired about me or prayed for me. For those who didn’t, that’s fine too. We’re on this journey together and sometimes we have to bear each other up. Speaking of Which, here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat.” Mark 2:3 NLT
What must have motivated those four men to stand with their friend/relative so literally? No matter the man’s normal weight, paralysis always seems to add more kilos of dead weight to a person’s body.
In an era void of cars; one presumes they walked with him from next door or several houses away. Maneuvering through the house and into the streets could not have been easy. But they pressed on. Believing for a miracle.
There’s also the matter of the man’s faith. Yes, his friends/relatives were the ones doing the lifting and carrying; but it was his life, his story. What if he fell? Or if they lost strength – he could not get up on his own! He was totally dependent on them! What if he was not healed? He’d have had to depend on them to lift him and get him back home. Plus he’d have to face the disappointment of Jesus’ no.
I believe that sometimes we fail to try because we don’t wish to face the possibility of defeat. But that attitude gets us nowhere. Fast. Life happens. And we sometimes have to step out in faith mentally in order to receive our breakthrough.
Yes there are ‘what ifs’. There always are. But praise be to God, there are always ‘why nots’ also. And today, I believe we may need to focus on the one which mobilizes us for our miracle. Friends, faith and faltering steps.
Toward Christ.
Towards our destiny.
Thank God for faithful, faith-filled friends and family
Thank God for faith!
God bless you
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
