Today’s Holy Nougat is great encouragement for someone’s day
“This is the LORD’s doing, and it is wonderful to see.’ ”” Mark 12:11 NLT
This sounds great on its own, until we realize that the preceding verse speaks about rejection. Yup, the stone Rejected by other builders is now the chief cornerstone. That is part of God’s plan. And it’s a good thing.
Actually, when established as the cornerstone; it’s absolutely marvelous. However, few people would desire the season of rejection which precedes the exaltation. And that’s where the challenge comes.
Just think of your first/worst rejection experience. Can you recall the effect it had on your sense of self? I know mine was shattered by the onslaught. I doubted my own abilities and almost gave up.
But God
Human angels ministered to me, some unacknowledged; a few thanked. My confidence in myself wasn’t really restored; rather, I became conscious of the need for God-confidence. For when I knew that God was doing, it was less risky.
Hello
Let’s keep it real. Some days I trusted neither self nor God. The rejections felt so personal.
But again, God. For those were the times when ministering angels helped to restore my soul. (And I had to think about the nougat reflections! When I couldn’t hold on or believe in my potential; God’s doing got me going.
Enough about me.
Your story is just as or even more compelling. And whatever you face(d); God’s plan prevails. Consider the gift/skill you garnered in that season – which is now essential to others. That may be what has established the cornerstone. Or it may be in finishing stages. Hold strain. Don’t give up on you or God.
So there you have it – rejection can yield positive results. God does turn it around and that’s the beauty alluded to today. And we also take courage knowing that Christ our Cornerstone has also gone the road of rejection. We KNOW God understands where we are!
Can we praise our way through our seasons of rejection – yes! And if we can’t; let’s cry out so someone might minister to us.
