Hello dear
Today’s Holy Nougat reaches a core concern for many, especially those in need
“And when she finds it, she will call her friends and neighbors and say, ‘Be happy with me because I have found the coin that I lost.’” Luke 15:9 NCV
We all have experienced loss of precious items before. Let’s refer to it as a coin as Jesus did. It may not have value for others, that precious thing, but if it was precious to us and was lost or stolen, the pain is almost physical.
What if the coin was the difference between survival and starvation for us? I know, some of us have been/are there right now). The coin does not change; but it’s value for us would change. I can’t speak for the males among us, but I have cried to and with many a sister when life turned upside down due to lost things. It is often difficult to accept the loss of a coin. The commiserating person often says retrace your steps to see whether the coin fell along the way. Oftentimes, it was, and we then rush to rejoice its rediscovery.
We are Jesus’ lost coins.
Unfortunately, unlike the literal coin, we are the ones who contributed to our lostness.
We get lost each time we choose the world’s standards over God’s.
We get lost each time we seek someone else’s opinion on a matter which we know requires God’s direction.
We are lost UNTIL we yield ourselves to God wholly and soully for God’s glory.
And God, through the Blood of Jesus Christ, keeps searching (calling us to safety) as if we are the last lost coin. When we return to the batch, all of heaven – cherubim, seraphs, all the hosts and chief angels – join in the celebration of our restoration!
That’s amazing!
So
Having been found, what is our duty? To God and to other lost coins? (Asking for a fellow lost coin)
