How has it been going?
Here’s our Holy Nougat™ for Today
But Martha was distracted with much serving; so she approached Yeshua and said, “Master, doesn’t it concern you that my sister has left me to serve alone? Then tell her to help me!” Luke10.40
Have you ever felt like Martha in a Mary world? When you’re bogged down by the little details, the worries, and the Marys are blissfully unaware … basking in the joy of the Lord? The days when you really want to just overturn tables so Mary could realise that there’s stuff to be done, and that you also would LOVE to soak up some of Jesus. Many of us hesitate to own up to this because we remember the response which Martha received.
The thing is, before we get to Jesus’ response; we HEAR Martha’s cry. Martha is very clear that something’s gonna give. She is very very clear that there is need for a paradigm shift. And the shift will take place.
Having tried to reach Mary, she then approaches the Gamechanger. She knows she WILL receive audience. She KNOWS He WILL get to the bottom of the problem. And in confidence that her request WILL BE heard, Martha approached Jesus (Yeshua).
She didn’t clean up her expression, she took her frustration straight to Him.
What about you? When you are having a Martha day, to whom do you turn? I must admit that there are days when it’s a struggle to go to Jesus, especially when I suspect that I know what response I’ll get. Yet the Lord invites us to come reason anyways. So, are we up to being frankly Martha, or do we grin and bear it?
Time to change a few things
