Hallelujah! We made it!
So many already buried, to be buried, but thanks be to God we have seen life to the end of 2015. And so Lord, we give you thanks. Be with those who mourn, help us provide release for the broken-hearted, and may your healing have be upon those who are does-eased and afflicted. May your glory rise among and upon us we pray, in Jesus’s name amen.
Here’s today’s nougat
Who is the King of Glory, the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Ps 24.8
In Isaiah 9.6, The Child is called “the Mighty God”. And here in today’s nougat we are told that the Mighty God is also mighty in battle. 2 Corinthians 10.4-5 and Ephesians 6.10-18 are very clear reminders that we daily wage battles against our collective mutual enemy in the kingdom of Satan (remember that This Child also is ruler of a Kingdom).
Because the battle is real, it is helpful to know that our Head of Government is also accomplished in military tactics. Psalm 24 assures us that his is not a titular position. As Counsellor, Jesus meets our spiritual and social needs. As King of Glory, Jesus defends us in the spiritual battle for our souls.
Most of his might is derived from good military tactics, so much so that we are equipped with the best in offensive and defensive armour, with angels assigned to be ready for battle at ALL times, whether it be sickness, temptation, despair, addictions, or self (yes there are others). But his might also derives from his commitment to keep us covered till the day of his return (see the prayer of Jesus in John 17, when he prays that none is lost, but for the Son of perdition). And that is the mark of a great Chief of Defence.
Who is this King of Glory? Jesus our Lord, El Shaddai. He is our Melek HaKavod (our King of Glory)!
Blessings for 2016
