Helloooo

I pray you well.

In Greek mythology, the story is told of a boy whose mother dipped him in the waters of immortality to protect him from death. What his mother had not factored for was the spot where she held him could be exposed enough to result in his death. This is a lesson for us all, especially when we consider the implications for our own spiritual lives. Today’s Holy Nougat™️ offers an important insight for us in that regard.

“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” Ephesians‬ ‭6:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

My dears, EVERY still means EVERY. I’m not sure how Thetis would have ensured every millimeter on Achilleus (Achilles) was anointed; but in our reality; we can get full coverage. And when we are in our full armor, we will find the strength to resist the enemy. Moreover at the end of the day, when we take this approach, our faith will remain secure.

A quick note on resistance. Rather than invite us to rush into the offensive; we are encouraged to resist the enemy. In several Bible dictionaries, to resist is to oppose, counteract, strive against or frustrate. It is not passive at all. What we are being urged to avoid is rushing to start the war ourselves. This idea is echoed in 2 Corinthians 10 (we don’t wage flesh wars) and in James 4.

James begins the resistance conversation with a reprimand for the little skirmishes surfacing among the believers. He then instructs them to Yield to God’s authority which strengthens the resistance to the enemy. When we resist (that is oppose, frustrate, and counteract) the enemy; we will find the enemy will retreat.

And Resistance is an ALL body/spiritual activity; requiring full protection. Let’s try to ensure we are covered because we know that though the enemy may retreat, the enemy will return until the day of Christ’s return.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
