Nougat 5

Yesterday we had to determine whether we believe in Jesus’ resurrection. In working through the Why of our beliefs, we might also have come face to face with Jesus and how we see Him. Just like the disciple in today’s Holy Nougat

“Then the one named Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things that happened there in these days?”” Luke‬ ‭24:18‬ ‭TLV‬‬

Talk about irony of ironies. The disciple scoffed at Jesus lack of knowledge about current things about Jesus, yet failed to see Jesus in the moment. They were the ones who were clueless! Before we get at them tho, we also have to ask ourselves whether Jesus has walked with us in our seasons and we failed to see Him.

When God presents us with God’s reality it may not always look as we expect. For, tho Jesus was known to them prior to Him being Crucified, somehow they did not recognize him. Covid wasn’t prevalent then, so we assume that He wasn’t masked; but there was something about His resurrected self that prevented them from seeing Jesus as the Christ.

What, or where are the stumbling blocks to our own full experience of Christ? Are we still at the Manger, unable to see Jesus as Helpless, cute babe? Perhaps we’re caught up with the Teacher, discipling us to God’s way. We might be stuck, lost in grief at Gethsemane, beneath the Cross where He suffered and died. I pray that though we visited the tomb, were not entangled with the death. For, for us to truly live, we must be able to see Him as Resurrected AND Ascended, at God’s right hand; for there we can appreciate Jesus for ALL facets of His glory!

I pray that we can experience ALL of Jesus at work in our lives all the time.
