Walking in God’s purpose with purpose and on purpose others isn’t always easy. It is sometimes fraught with adversity and opposition. Well, according to today’s Holy Nougat™️, we’re not the first persons to experience such.

“Moses assumed his fellow Israelites would realize that God had sent him to rescue them, but they didn’t.” Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭7:25‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Amos 3:3 suggests that trouble follows when persons of differing viewpoints try to work together to accomplish the same goal. And operatively, that’s what happened with Moses and his fellow Israelites. Moses was very clear about his call and purpose. It may have taken him eighty years to figure it out, and he might not have taken the direct route to get there; but his calling and election was sure.

Even his name spoke to his destiny – ‘pulled out’ or ‘son’. For he was The Son of Pharaoh‘a daughter and may have been raised as potential pharaoh. But he was also pulled out of the Nile and rescued from sure death. Moreover, he would become the Son of the Children of Israel who would ‘pull them out’ of enslavement.

But the to the Children of Israel Moses was no different from them. In fact, because they were familiar with his past, they could scarcely see his future. And, for the most part, they were still stuck in Egypt. They had ZERO vision of God’s promise.

But Moses did.

And, for the most part, he had his siblings’ support. And that was all he needed.

Sometimes we become frustrated by others and their naysaying. We can’t understand why they are not going along with us, especially if we are trying to help them. In other instances, they might be roadblocks to our vision. The fact is – they might not have our vision. That God gives you a vision is no guarantee that I will receive it. And even when I do, I might not buy into it in the same way. And the same holds true for me. You have Zero obligation to buy into God’s vision for my life.

But we can and should respect each other. And if we have doubts about the vision, perhaps it’s the time to pray for clarification; rather than us making lives miserable for others.

And when God confirms that someone’s path is truly correct, and that our paths are intended to connect for a season, that is the time to pray for discernment on how to support them on the journey. As we each do so, we find that even when we do disagree we can still shine the light of Christ.

Most of all – we must remain encouraged when faced with opposition. As long as we know that we are in God’s will, we are fine. Sometimes it takes the opposition to confirm our purpose.

May all we seek be found in Christ
