Nougat 11

Walk Hol’ Walk Holy! Walk Hol’ Walk Holy! We are God’s children, walk Holy! We are God’s children walk Holy.

As Children of God, we carry God’s traits in our DNA.! We continue yesterday’s reflection in today’s Holy Nougat

“Because you are children who obey God, don’t live the kind of lives you once lived. Once you lived to satisfy your desires because you didn’t know any better. But because the God who called you is holy, you must be holy in every aspect of your life.” 1 Peter‬ ‭1:14-15‬ ‭GW‬‬

It’s one thing to be aware of our status as Children of the Celebrity; it’s another to LIVE the Truth of our reality. Because our reality is not about Page 2; living like the Kardashians; the Royals of Buckinham, USA, or Windsor; Bollywood stars etc. It is the reality that comes from our own understanding of Who God is and What that means for our lives.

And just as children don’t pick which DNA we carry, neither do we.

But

Here’s the blessing:

Since it’s God’s DNA that we carry, then ALL the DNA, all the traits are Good. (See Genesis 1; 28,31 where we are blessed and declared good). The non-God aspects would thus indicate us being bratty. Like the movies suggest that celebrity children do.

God’s DNA is best chronicled by the Fruit of the Spirit; outlined in Galatians 5:22-23. That is: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. Just as a tree produces Fruit we, as Children of God, are God’s Fruit. We are thus ALL of those, and more.

With that, we become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus(2 Corinthians 5:21). That is, we are as though we are without sin because of Christ. And our actions then demonstrate our desire to Live this reality. Please note; we do not become sin-less; rather we aim to Sin Less. And through our obedience (as Children of God who know we are God’s), we help others to discern their own identity through Christ! That’s why we ‘Walk Holy’.

Now that’s quite a bit we have chewed on; tomorrow we continue with reflecting on our righteousness as per 2 Corinthians 5.
