Nougat 23

Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“The angel said to him, “Don’t be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer. Your wife Elizabeth will have a son, and you will name him John.” Luke‬ ‭1:13‬ ‭GW‬‬

Now Zechariah was No spring chicken. Not him, nor his wife. And miracles were not very frequent in their lives. They had probably been praying for a child, and had there been fertility clinics; they would have donated millions of dollars in appointments. Now several years, maybe even decades, had passed with no proof that they had been heard.

Yet there was an angel claiming God was hearing Zechariah‘s prayer And in answering, God took the answer to the next level by blessing them with a boy child.

Siblings in the Faith, I assure you that if God has given us a ‘Not yet’, then time cannot stop the prayer. In fact, some of the disappointing responses may be the foundation (base) for the breakthrough we seek.

We don’t know how long or how often Zechariah had prayed about the child. We don’t know how much time passed since he assumed that God was not answering with a yes; but we do know that he was STILL working for God’s glory as a priest in the temple.

My siblings, whatever we have placed before God in prayer can STILL be heard by God. Whether we have given up hope for God’s intervention or we’re still a bit hopeful; if God has said, ‘Not yet’ that’s what it means. Our task is to hold on to hope and press on with the work God has assigned us to do.

My sister, my brother – getting all bent out of shape will not speed up the answer one bit. Neither will visits to ‘scientists’ or other spiritual practitioners. Nothing can shift God’s good timing. Not even if we’ve lost hope!

So here is a thought – what if we praise God despite our delayed prayers? Let us opt to be caught praying and praising regardless of whether we know that our prayer has been heard.
