Can you remember what our salvation entails? Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™️

“That is what some of you were—but you were washed, you were made holy, you were set right in the name of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah and by the Ruach of our God.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:11‬ ‭TLV‬‬

Having outlined the laundry list sinful actions; the Pauline writer goes on to raise a vital point.

We are ALL sinners!

Each of us has had our own sin experience, where we lived outside of God’s will, purpose and plans for us in Creation and for our lives personally. But we can argue that that was ‘backindaday’. For the most part, we’re changed.

And in case we forgot what that entails, at least metaphorically, that is explained

  • Washed

Upon acceptance of Christ as our Savior, the blood of Jesus cleanses us and removes the stench of our sins (1 John 1:7). This is not a literal cleanse, and for many of us; we have to return to this point from time to time.

  • Sanctified

Sanctification, thankfully, is NOT about the right words, the right ‘tic’, or the right actions. Nope, we can sound like the beat evangelist; until we become God’s chosen people, and Live it in our hearts, our holiness (ie sanctification) is of little value. To be sanctified involves knowing that we are set apart BY God’s Spirit for our new life in Jesus. (1 Peter 2:9).

  • Redeemed

We must remember – EACH of us; every single one of us is BOUGHT with a price. Yup

That laundry list of sin that originated at the Garden messed up our access to eternity with God. Most of us are still struggling to keep ourselves away from sin. But Romans 6:23 assures us that instead of death and forever separation from God; we have access to eternity with God Because of Jesus. Earlier in the chapter surrounding the nougat; we’re reminded that our salvation came at the expense of Christ’s death! That’s what Redemption is all about. We are only redeemed by God’s Grace – we cannot purchase our salvation; we only can accept it.

Now we’ve accepted the wonderful gift of salvation; I pray we share this invitation to receive the gift with others. Don’t worry about their state of readiness; that’s not our task. God’s Spirit will do the needful. And that applies to our lives also. When we accept the gift of Salvation from Christ, by the move of God’s Spirit, do we take the gift or the Giver for granted? I hope not! Instead, we invite God’s Spirit to journey with us all the way.

God bless us all.

May all we seek be found in Christ
