Nougat 5

Years ago, when Evian was one of the few known (popular) brands of bottled water; a friend took me driving to France. I had limited funds on me, so I was perturbed that the destination was Evian. We joined the lines and waited patiently. Soon, like the widow in 2 Kings 4, we had every container we carried filled – for Free! I don’t know if it was because of the source; but it tasted much better than the store-bought water.

How much better is life for us when we tap into Our Source, Creator-God! Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’” Acts 17:28 NIV

We are not worshiping Zeus but God when we see ourselves as God’s offspring. Not just as God’s masterpiece in Christ; but also as children of God. Having that mind grants us access to ALL that God has set aside for God’s elect; for we are in Christ. I dare to suggest that it also means that we accept that our status comes by way of Jesus. For He bridged the gap to bring us back to God’s clan.

I want to expand the concept of being God’s child by making reference to children with their mothers during gestation. For each child, life in the womb is complete; everything came directly from the mother. Food, drink water and general health is accessible by way of the umbilical cord. The baby is it’s own person, and even in the womb has its own identity. But life for that child in the womb depends on the mother’s wellbeing and the amniotic fluid. It’s life depends on them.

God is that mother.

Jesus is the umbilical cord.

The Holy Spirit is our amniotic fluid.

Without the Trinity, we are in distress. For our ‘mother’ God is our Source and wishes to pass that wellbeing to each of us. Since we can’t get directly to the Source by ourselves, we need Jesus to transmit the nutrients to us. The quality is not distorted (no additives nor preservatives), but Jesus gets us to the Source and keeps us connected with our Source. And it is God’s Spirit Who preserves and keeps us all throughout.

So, we see – in God (not Zeus), we live move and have our being. Let’s be intentional in gaining all our nourishment from God.
