Nougat 20

Sometimes it seems like believers are so powerless despite all the Bible says to the contrary. Maybe we ought to revise our prayer strategy. Here’s today’s Holy Nougat

“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” Romans 8:26 NLT

All along we might have thought prayer was about OUR needs, wants and desires; yet here we see that prayer is all about God. I know some of us are responding with a ‘Like Duh’ or something like that; but others are still not on the page. I commend to us however; ‘Exhibit Jesus’s; where He clearly states; ‘Your will be done On Earth as in Heaven!’ Yes. If we are taking the model prayer seriously; then we are imposing God’s will on EVERY Situation we face.

What this means then, is that our priority is always God’s will. In situations of pain – God’s will. In situations of joy – God’s will. In situations of anger – God’s will. In situations of love – God’s will. Whether fear, dismay, doubt, desire, desperation, disaster, disappointment, disease, divorce, delay, depression, desolation or death – we still need to seek God’s will. I know, it is NOT always easy. And in some cases we have NO idea of What or How to pray. We might not even be certain of our Feelings on the matter.

God’s Spirit to the rescue!!!

Whether we know what to pray for or not, when we involve God’s Spirit in our prayers – and we should – we have automatically asked ‘Your will be done RIGHT NOW as You, dear Abba, have ordained it to be in Heaven (where things happen according to Your plans and purposes). This is Not ALWAYS our True intention. For at some moments, we want Our Will to be manifested In The Moment.

As our Creator, God already knows that sometimes our hearts are desperately wicked, and so God’s Spirit has to intervene to keep our prayers God-focused. And sometimes our desolation is so great that only God’s Spirit gets what Needs to be done. Hence our prayers become spiritual ‘Morse code’ that only God (Creator, Christ and Comforter) understands.

Speaking of Morse code; we recall that it was used to get past the enemy in times of battle. Whether on paper or with sounds, the words, dashes and dots etc had meaning to the receiver and the sender. In like manner, our prayers are sometimes great battles being fought On Earth AND In the Heavenlies. When God’s Spirit is invited to join/lead our prayers, demons MUST tremble. For their jurisdiction is placed immediately under threat!

No wonder the enemy of our souls would have us believe all kind of Lies (that’s the enemy’s remit by the way) about God’s Spirit. For if-when we know the Truth; we surely will be freed from many a bondage and danger! No wonder many go searching for alternative power when us believers fail to tap into God’s power through God’s Spirit!

What happened in Jamaica last weekend – both the kidnappings and the sacrifices – are more common than we think! And the incidents WILL increase if believers FAIL to pray God’s will. For God’s will to be effected here on Earth as in Heaven; then praying in God’s Spirit MUST become as natural as Breathing. It’s how we can overcome. (For God’s Spirit can and will invoke the Blood of Jesus (the Lamb) to help us defeat the enemy).
