What does nothing mean to us in relation to God’s love? Consider today’s Holy Nougat

“No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:39‬ ‭NLT‬‬

And that’s it

Nothing means not one earthly, heavenly, great or small thing.

Nothing can cut us off from God’s love. For, God’s love is not a thing that it may be tarnished, broken, lost or destroyed. We may be conscious of God’s love this minute and forget in the next; but even then God’s love cannot be diminished or extinguished.

God’s love is not restricted to places; for God’s love is in the presence of God; so God’s love is everywhere; like the air we breathe. Yet God’s love isn’t actually air either. And though God’s mind is love, God’s love is more than God’s mind; for then it might have been containable when we seek God’s mind.

So, having eliminated the material nature of God’s love and determined that God’s love is not a place; we might correctly conclude that God’s love is a person. Well, the divine embodiment of that love in any case. John the Gospel-writer says God’s love is given to us in Jesus Christ. But not just in the physical finite sense. For all times. After the 12th of Never, and beyond.

For when God’s love was murdered, God’s love saw it as the chance to drop in on Hell unexpectedly and secure those who’d accepted the love. Then, in what could only be divine, God’s love rose from any earthly, natural restraints and presented once again in the resurrected body of Jesus Christ.

Beyond life after death …

God’s love is eternal yet naturally flowing for each of us.

Our only task?

To receive that abiding love for ourselves and be transformed.
