What does grace look like? I recall the acronym *God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense* from 7th or 8th grade, and then as now, I find it so apt. Today’s Holy Nougat also places it in perspective
8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8–9 (NLT)
Grace-full Transformation
About the same time, there was a song trending in Jamaica – He paid a debt He didn’t owe, I owed a debt I couldn’t pay. I needed someone to wash my sins away. And now I sing a brand new song Amazing Grace how sweet the sound, Lord Jesus Christ paid my debt on Calvary.
And that’s essentially what grace is.
– Humanity sinned; creating that chasm between us and God.
– The chasm was so wide that we couldn’t fix it.
– Jesus, opted to become on of us so that the chasm could be repaired.
– We have the opportunity to get back in God’s good books by recognising Jesus gift and accepting it.
– Because we accept the gift, we have direct access to God once again.
– We also become more and more like God as we’re guided by God’s Spirit.
And that’s the marvellous power of God’s grace – once we’ve accepted it, because of God’s Spirit dwelling within, we’re transformed. Our lives are different, we even begin to act differently. But it’s a good different, so no worries.
